Factors that Shape Places @ The Coal Loader is a Geography fieldwork study focusing on how people and environments influence one another. Students will engage with the environment to learn how people influence places and manage the spaces within them. Students will also develop an understanding of sustainability and why sustainability is an important influence in human design and action.

On the day activities
During the full day fieldwork excursion, students will undertake the following activities:
investigating a wetland area, its function and the biodiversity through observations
analysing what waste is, how it impacts our environment and solutions like a circular economy for products
using ID charts to observe pollinators and support biodiversity by creating pollinator seed bombs and water stands
redesigning a home to incorporate environmentally sustainable features.
