In accordance with DoE Covid-19 guidelines, excursions are now available. Observatory Hill EEC is a specialised DoE school and follows Covid Safe guidelines. Future bookings, including for 2022, can be made now.

A range of Online Learning Webinars, is also still available on our online learning page. These webinars are available on demand and replicate the fieldwork content using an online learning format. Comprehensive support websites, many with units of work, support the online learning experience. 

High School Urban Dynamics Revision Sessions 

Free Urban Dynamics Revision Webinars are available for students and teachers in Term 3, 2022 to help prepare  students for the Geography HSC Exam. Sessions cover the Urban Dynamics case studies of Barangaroo, Pyrmont and Green Square, and the People and Economic Activity case study of Taronga Zoo Sydney. World Town Planning Day Webinars - Tuesday 8th Nov

Schools are invited to register for our free High School and Primary School World Town Planing Day webinar and follow-up urban design competition. New High School Excursions

Sydney Harbour YHA – an economic enterprise supports the Stage 6 Geography topic 'People and Economic Activity'. It focuses on a case study of Sydney Harbour Youth Hostel as a tourism enterprise operating at a local level. To complete two fieldwork case studies, teachers can stay at the Sydney Harbour YHA and combine this program with an additional Observatory Hill EEC S6 Urban Dynamics case study to either nearby Barangaroo, Green Square or Pyrmont (or an additional case study to Taronga Zoo Sydney on selected dates). Landscapes and Landforms

From Wynard Station:

Exit on York St and walk north past Lang Park. Cross over Grosvenor St into Cumberland St (pedestrianised) and continue on to the Australian Hotel. The Centre is located on the corner of Gloucester St and Cumberland St behind the Australian Hotel.

From Circular Quay Station:

Walk towards the Rocks through First Fleet Park to the Museum of Contemporary Art. Turn left into Argyle St. Just before the Argyle cut (tunnel) turn left into Cambridge St (pedestrianised). The entrance is at nunber 11 Cambridge St just past the Kameya Restaurant. Take the lift to level 4.
