Primary excursions
Observatory Hill EEC offers curriculum-linked programs through inner-city excursions or school incursions by Centre teachers.
Incursions cover council areas including Bayside, Burwood, Canada Bay, Canterbury, City of Sydney, Georges River, Hunters Hill, Inner West, Lane Cove, Mosman, North Sydney, Randwick, Sutherland, Waverley, Willoughby, and Woollahra.
All programs provide teacher notes, student worksheets (where applicable), teaching support materials, risk assessments, and details on dates, times, locations, and costs.
Costs vary by excursion and student numbers. Non-DoE schools are welcome; contact us for pricing.
Our centre offers outdoor learning programs for all primary school years, from Early Stage 1 to Stage 3. All programs are linked to the NSW curriculum
What we offer
Each primary learning program includes:
- fun, hands-on learning outside in nature
- activities that link to science, geography and history
- learning about caring for Country, sustainability and Aboriginal cultures
- tasks that help students think, ask questions and work together
- optional classroom activities before and after the visit
- teachers who are trained and understand the primary school curriculum
- the option to change activities to suit your students’ needs.
